At least once a week, but every day if there are many people or small children.

At the very least once a year, disinfect the toilet and sink a week to keep bacteria at bay and the bathtub every two weeks if you shower frequently. To prevent mold and mildew, disinfect shower curtains once a week. Mold can cause skin, eye, and throat irritation in some people.

It is preferable to thoroughly clean the bathroom once a week, although the frequency depends on how many people use it and how dirty it is. If you share a space with a couple or a group of roommates who forget to flush all the time, agreeing on frequent cleaning is a brilliant idea.

However, in between cleanings, it’s always advisable to wipe the toilet with an antibacterial wipe to remove germs from the seat and handle at the end of the day.

How often to Clean Toilet

Pour Coke (yes, the soda) into a spray bottle and saturate the spot with the drink if you have some tough stains or sludge in the toilet bowl. Let it sit for a few hours. With a toilet brush, you should be able to scrape off the discoloration.

Steps:

  • Start by flushing the toilet bowl with hot water as a brief pre-cleaning rinse.
  • Next, use a toilet bowl cleaner that contains bleach, or pour in the vinegar and baking soda for a less harsh option.
  • Wipe the outside of the toilet with the disinfectant wipes, making sure to clean the seat, cistern, toilet base, and surrounding tiles.

Bathroom cleaning instructions

How often you clean your bathroom will determine how often you use it. Here are some quick tips to keep your porcelain in tip-top shape throughout the week.

Since the toilet is one of the germiest places in the house, you should clean it once or twice a week. The feces in your toilet combine with the flush water, releasing plumes of microorganisms into the air. However, it is not always necessary to thoroughly clean the bathroom. You can wipe the sweat and sides with a bleach wipe until you notice a ring in the toilet bowl.

Bottom line

To avoid the transmission of germs, a toilet should be cleaned twice or three times a week. Wipe the exterior, handle, and seat with an antibacterial cleanser or wipe daily. Fill a spray bottle halfway with Coke (yes, the soda) and saturate the area.

So, you should clean it at least once or twice a week. Your toilet’s feces react with the flush water, ejecting plumes of germs. Clean the seat and sides of the toilet bowl with bleach wipe until you detect a ring in the bowl.
