How to Remove Levolor Blinds from Brackets

Open the blinds all the way.

Open the blinds all the way.

In the first step, to remove the levolor blinds, you must open the blinds all the way. Make sure to remove the blinds gently and with love. Removing the blinds will make access to the brackets easier. You have to open it all. Please don’t leave it in the middle.

Locate the brackets on the headrail at the top of the blinds.

Locate the brackets on the headrail at the top of the blinds.

In the second step, you have to find out your brackets. Brackets are usually placed on the headrail at the top of the blinds. It is in the horizontal line running on the top of the blinds.

Brackets are used to hold and support the blinds in the position. Thus, removing the brackets is necessary to remove the blinds. So, inspect it with full attention and remove it. Removing can vary according to the bracket type. It has 2 types:

  • Spring-loaded brackets
  • Screw-mounted brackets

If the brackets are spring-loaded, push the blinds back toward the window and tilt the back of the blinds down.

If the brackets are spring-loaded, push the blinds back toward the window and tilt the back of the blinds down.

If you have spring-loaded brackets, it has its way of removing them. All you have to do is remove the curtains. Open them to make them compact and easier to work with. Then, place one hand on each end of the front rail and push the blinds toward the window. Tilt the back of the blinds down. The curtains will come right out.

Reinstalling blinds uses the opposite process. Place the back of the rail in the window with a slight downward angle. Then, turn the curtains up and put them back in place. You will hear a click when the curtains are seated properly.

If the brackets are screw-mounted, use a screwdriver to remove the screws.

If the brackets are screw-mounted, use a screwdriver to remove the screws.

If you use spring brackets, then it has its way of removing. All you have to do is to use end caps. End caps are small square boxes that open at one end. The bracket is installed so that the open end of the box faces out of the window. The headrails slide into the open boxes—a small cover swings down from the curtains. Like a small door or goes from the side into the mounting base to cover the hole.

Open the cover and pull the headrail towards you to remove the blinds. To reinstall the curtains, reverse the process.

Once the brackets are loose, lift the blinds up and out of the brackets.

In the second last step, once the brackets are loose. Then, you have to lift the blinds up and out of the brackets. This step should be performed gently. Don’t apply pressure while lifting. This action will remove all your blinds from the brackets.

If removing the blinds permanently, unscrew the brackets from the wall.

If you permanently remove the blinds, grab a screwdriver and unscrew the brackets. So your wall will have a neat and clean look. But this step is optional. Don’t remove the brackets if you have done this process to replace the blinds. Hang your next blinds.
